Thoughts: Beware! Warning! This may contain spoilers!
So last night I finally got to see Monsters University! I have to say after waiting 11 years for a sequel to one of my favorite children's movie I was not disappointed at all! This movie was beyond adorable!

The character development was amazing, and the plot really lends an explanation to most of the character relationships in the original Monsters Inc. film. You saw all the characters from Mike and Sully to even Roz.

I think being a college student made mee appreciate the film even more. Most of the fun things like welcome week, unpacking, making friends, and even the college parties reminded mee of things that I got to do as my first year. The movie plot was well written to in the fact that every little detail was taken care of. My friends and I could not stop laughing during the movie, and even in the sad parts we were on the edge of our seats rooting for Mike to be okay.
For an animated movie, I must say the plot had some good twists. Everything seemed to go smoothly, and then things would go off course in a typical climactic way. However, when everything is resolved, the audience learns that Sully cheated, and it puts a new perspective and plot direction in the film. I thought this was pretty impressive considering that the plot itself was pretty simple.

The one part of the movie that was a little disappointing was that Mike was definitely the main character. Don't get mee wrong, we got to see our favorites, Sully and Randall too, but the whole film centered around Mike and his desires and his perspectives from college. For a movie that is supposed to represent all the characters, I thought this was a bit disappointing. Although, the film did a nice job of incorporating the other character's backgrounds through their interactions with Mike.

The disney short at the beginning of the film was adorable too! It was called the Blue Umbrella and it features two umbrellas in a rainstorm falling in love. Cheesy sounding, yes, quite highly... but it was super adorable, and I really liked the way that the producers incorporated everyday objects and sounds together in this short.
All in all, I'd say the film was totally worth the overpriced ticket cost to see in theaters. The film was really adorable and did a wonderful job explaining and providing background information on the characters and their relationships. Disney never fails to disappoint, and I must say that this is one of Disney's best sequels ever.

Rating: 9/10
