Chicago Haul

This past week I was in Chicago for a few different times, hanging with friends and with family. Each time I had the privilege of going to different stores. Hanging in Chicago means quirky shops along with high brand names. This time along with hitting some of my favorite places, like H&M, we also went to fun thrift shops and random artsy shops.

H&M:

1. Loose Knit Ombre Sweater
This sweater I got on sale for $5! I must admit that when H&M has things on sale, the prices are beyond a good deal. This sweater isn't heavy enough for winter, but it has a nice spring and fall feel- which makes mee excited to go back to school.

This piece is a wonderful basic to have. The skater skirt is flattering on all body shapes and can easily be paired with sweaters, tanks, crops, or graphic tees.

3. Cat Print Dress
Cats are a big thing right now, and I'm not complaining. As a cat lover with allergic family members, I'll take anything cat haha. But this dress is super cute! The zipper isn't on the side, but on the back instead, which allow for a modern chic look. The material is also heavier, which makes this a good dress for the winter if paired with some funky colored tights.

Some artsy jewelry accessory store:

 4. Faux pinchers
So to my friends and family, it's no secret that I am a fan of using your body as personal expression. As a person with 9 piercings, I must say that I love the idea of body art. However, in respect with my parents' wishes, I am not allowed to get tattoos or stretch my ears until I am 21. With that in mind, I found these cool faux pinchers. [cocojewelry]

 5. Clay Nail Decals
I think Forever 21 sells the same thing, since the label on this says Love and Beauty. But I love nail things, so these two sets have a combination of cute bows, fruits, and sweets, and then modern punky studs, glitter, and gems.

6. Polaroid Earring Set
Mostly as a sucker for the cute packaging, this earring set is really cute. Each set has a different polaroid picture with three sets of earrings.

Different Thrift Stores:

7. Diana MoMa Camera
I find this a wonderful steal! For $15 dollars I got a camera I have lusted over for such a long time! It even came with flash! But this camera is a film camera, which creates nice dreamy airy like pictures.

8. American Eagle Lace Shorts
One of the Thrift Stores I like to visit is actually a chain, Plato's Closet. This store only carries recent trends from popular name brand stores. So with lace being a popular trend this summer, I decided to grab a pair of shorts to match.

9. Modern Color Pop Patterned Sweater
This sweater is beyond spunky! I love it's fun pattern, but also its bright orange pop of color on the hem. The sweater is a partial crop top, and it will be perfect to wear in the fall with a skater skirt or high waisted jeans.

9. Graphic Tee
Normally I don't buy t-shirts, unless its from a concert or a charity.. but this one was so fun and different, giving off a fun meaning. The shirt reads "We don't create trends we avoid them, styles change, good taste doesn't".

10. BP Oxford Shoes
Oxford shoes tend to be associated with preppier looks, but lately these shoes can be paired with dresses and other nicer pieces of clothing for a more hipster or retro style. These shoes are also padded and have a comfortable sole.

11. Forever XXI City Name Sweater
This is yet another recognized store brand I found at the thrift store. If you haven't figured it out yet, I like sweaters and heavier pieces since I go to school in Minnesota, one of the coldest places.

OOTD Round- Up

Hello lovelies!
July is over and with the end of this past month, I'd like to start another type of post. Instead of pestering you with tons of OOTD posts, I decided to pick my favorites from the month and post them collectively.

With that, I'd like to start with my first OOTD Round- Up post!

July is usually our warm and lovely summer month. What makes July lots of fun is the amount of outdoor activities and such. For mee, outdoor activities usually include concerts. With that in mind, most of my outfits this month revolved around whatever type of concert I was going to. So lots of kawaii grunge and street- like festival outfits. Lollapalooza starts this weekend, and I'm so excited!

H&M Online

hm.com/us
Exciting news for all my fashion lovers!

Last night, H&M launched its online site for US shoppers! You can now view all the available clothes AND purchase them online! Men, women, and children clothing is included online, along with home decor.

Enjoy!

A Look Inside: Girls Night

So after receiving tons of new nail decor for my birthday (birthday haul), it was time for a girl's night!

My friends and I spent the day together, in a typical movie- like girl's night. We played games, watched movies, ate pizza, gossiped, talked about guys, school and life, and did our nails.

It was really fun, and for awhile it was nice to not have to think about anything. We were able to have fun in our own way, without having to pay for anything or any of that stuff. Remember, broke college kids here... It was fun to catch up with friends, even if for a couple hours. Watching our favorite movies were fun, and we were all able to quote them and insert our own favorite moments.

In the case that you want to have your own girl's night too...

Here's a list of movies we recommend:
- Mean Girls
- John Tucker Must Die
- LOL
- Enchanted
- Fired Up!
- Ever After
- What A Girl Wants
- Killers

Also, here's some pictures of some our nails!

Benefit Cosmetics Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Review

Benefit Cosmetics: Hello Flawless Oxygen WOW Foundation

$36

Pros: Lightweight, Easy Application, Blends Well

Cons: Dewy look

So, I finally finished my old foundation, and I thought I would take this opportunity to buy myself a nice brand name foundation. I purchased this foundation in the shade "I'm all the rage, beige." I must say for a higher brand name, the price was pretty nice (in comparison to Urban Decay's $39 or Smashbox's $42 foundation). For the price, the foundation is really really nice! When applying the foundation there is a pump, which I like because it's cleaner and easily dispenses the same amount each time. The foundation is lightweight, I only need one pump each time. It also blends well and lasts a long time. I know some people complain about its lasting quality, but I have acne and it hasn't shown through after a few hours. Also, I wore this foundation to a concert, and after 6 hours of sweat it still held its coverage.

The only thing I have against this foundation is the dewy finish. However I know that some people prefer this. In order to fix this I use a powder and a setting spray.

In total, I am happy with this purchase. I would recommend this to one of my friends, but I would still prefer a slightly lower price, considering a college student's budge isn't that large.

Birthday Haul

So I know that technically my birthday was more than a month ago.

However, I have amazing friends, who will go above and beyond to get mee some of the wildest and most fun things as presents. One of my best friends from home, Alice, just gave mee my birthday present this past weekend. Inside the bag were all the wonderful things I needed to help further my procrastination at school!

Here have a peek inside!

I absolutely love painting my nails. Nail art, nail deco, nail anything is simply fun and amazing. I see painting nails not as a beauty and fashion accessory, but also a tiny form of personal expression, since your nails are a little creation of art.

Included in my ultimate nail art gift are:
- Dotting tools; 8 different sizes

- Gem rhinestones; stars, ovals, circles

- Empty wheel palettes

- Nail glue

- 3D Nail art decos

- Extra long double sided toothpicks

I can't wait to use all my fun new things and show you guys all the new designs I come up with!
Thank you so much Alice! ~

Mall Haul

More summer shopping!

Last week my mom took mee shopping for a girls' day celebration of my birthday. We went to an outlet mall, so all the clothes were really well priced with lots of deals. Needless to say, when the whole day is spent together at a mall, lots of shopping ensues.

This spree consisted of lots of summer wear. More funky tops. And lots of fun prints and colors. I also couldn't help but indulge myself in two of my favorite things, which were combined; makeup and Hello Kitty.

(I also pre- apologize for the pictures. I was lazy and didn't want to charge my camera- instead I opted for crappily lit phone pics.)

Zumiez:

These shorts are super cute! Now with the sunshine coming out, it's time to hit the beach! I am a fan of plain black clothes, but with neon becoming a new thing this season, I thought I could use some fun printed shorts to wear with my black bikini top.

Bralettes and bandeaus are super comfortable! Lately, I've been wearing these all the time because they are more comfy than bras, and they look cuter than a normal sports bra! You can wear these with man tanks, tanks, dresses, etc. I tend to pair these with funky backed tees and dresses - but I also like wearing these with cut up t-shirts.

I love beanies!! These hats are super comfy and can be worn in many different ways. Usually, most people attribute these hats with the winter. However, I wear them in the summer with dresses and baggy tees. They're great for second day hair or lazy days. Right now Zumiez is having a BOGO50% sale on all their beanies too!

Always a fan of basics, these tees are super comfy, and they come in a wide variety of colors. These shirts are 100% cotton, and the pocket is an added bonus!

Converse vs. Vans vs. Toms vs. Keds. I honestly love all of those shoes, and I do own all of them. However, Vans are super comfy, and Vans Eras are definitely one of my favorite because of the arch support for a flat shoes and the extra padding on the lid of the shoes. They are really nice to wear with skinnies or with dresses!

Pac Sun Outlet:

6. Bullhead Stripped Denim Vest
This vest is really nice because it is a way to immediately "hipster- up" any outfit, whether it's a dress or a tank. I recently wore this vest to a concert, and it is really nice because my phone and my money fit in the pockets wonderfully, without having to worry about anything falling out.

As similarly to my last mall haul, maxi skirts and dresses are in... and I am a fan of this trend! Although being shorter than most, this style is amazing because you can dress it up or down, sweet or punk, day or night, etc. This skirt has slits up the side, and the maxi length is sheer fabric with the opaque fabric hitting just above my knees.

Guess Outlet:

8. Guess Tie- Dyed Shorts
Tie- dye is totally in now. Different colored shorts are a new trend that are really cool. I love colored pants already, but colored shorts allow for creativity in the summer too! I plan to wear these to warped tour or other fun music festivals. Pair crazy shorts with a more placid shirt to balance out your outfit though.

9. Guess Colorblock Tank
White and Black are some of the new colors for the season. Luckily, I already love wearing simple colors, and this tank top combines these colors in a neat geometric form. The white is more see through, so it allows mee to wear a fun, bright colored bandeaus.

J. Crew Outlet:

10. Basic Star Tank
J. Crew has lots of different colors and patterned tanks at their outlet location. This tank is perfect for the fourth of July or any other outdoor festivities, like BBQs. Also, J. Crew is having all their tanks on sale, starting at $5.

BCBG Maxazria:

11. Lace White Cutout Cocktail Dress
This dress is simply adorable! I plan to wear this for my school's winter ball, a formal event at a hotel giving all the students a chance to be classy for a night. This dress is so cute! The straps and the cutouts are covered in lace, and they have a nice soft feel to it. The fabric is also very silky and is thick enough that certain colors aren't seen through it. I can't wait for December, when I can pair this with some simple gold jewelry and some nude pumps!

And that is the result of a long day at the outlet malls. I love outlets because they have the same name and style clothes as regular malls, but there are lower prices and way better deals. I'm excited for the upcoming festivities, which will give mee a chance to wear these pieces!

Want to know how I wear these? Or have any questions about them? Leave mee a comment!
Have any of these pieces or something similar? Let mee know how you wear yours!

Daisy Summer Nails

I decided that since summer is upon us, it was time for some cute floral nails. This design is cute and simple, and it only took mee a few minutes to complete.

The colors I used were:
- ULTA Basecoat
- Revlon Fuchsia Fever- ULTA Snow White- Revlon Sunshine Sparkle- ULTA Babydoll- ULTA X-Dry

Steps:
1. Apply a thin base coat to protect your nails.
2. Decide which nails you want which designs on, apply specific color to each nail.
3. To paint a daisy:
    - Thinly apply small lines of white polish
    - Create a star like figure
    - Dot yellow paint in the center of each star
4. On lighter colored nails, use a dotting tool or a striping tool to create simpler designs.
5. Apply a fast dry topcoat to seal in your design.
6. Voila! Simple, fast daisy nails!

For more direction, you may reference my youtube video. However, I apologize because this is my first every youtube nail tutorial!
